Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been nominated for the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year after topping the wicket-takers list in 2024. After missing the ODI World Cup last year due to injury, Hasaranga made a superb comeback in 2024 and, in 10 matches, dismissed 26 batters. His tally includes one five-wicket haul and three four-fers. Hasaranga also registered the best bowling figures in the format during a home ODI against Zimbabwe in January. Hasaranga scalped seven wickets while giving away 19 runs in 5.5 overs.
In women’s ODIs, India’s Deepti Sharma tops the charts for most wickets in 2024. She played 13 matches and dismissed 24 batters, which includes a six-wicket haul in the last match of the year played against the West Indies in Vadodara.

Dilon Heyliger (Canada) – 26 wickets
35-year-old right-arm medium pacer Dilon Heyliger picked up 26 wickets in 14 ODI matches for Canada in 2024. He registered his first and only five-wicket haul during the Cricket World Cup League 2 game against Nepal in September.
Allah Ghazanfar (Afghanistan) – 21 wickets
Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghaznafar, who will make his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians next year, managed to take 21 wickets in 11 ODIs in 2024. He is the only bowler to take two five-wicket hauls in 2024.
Aryan Dutt (Netherlands) – 21 wickets
Aryan Dutt played 12 ODIs for the Netherlands in 2024 and dismissed 21 batters. His best performance came against Namibia in February when he picked six wickets for 34 runs.
Nosthush Kenjige (USA) – 20 wickets
In 12 ODIs for the USA men’s cricket team in 2024, spinner Nosthush Kenjige picked up 20 wickets.

Deepti Sharma (India) – 24 wickets
Deepti Sharma played 13 ODIs for Women in Blue in 2024 and managed to get rid of 24 batters, which is the most by any player.
Sophie Ecclestone (England) – 21 wickets
England spinner Sophie Ecclestone follows Deepti Sharma on the list of bowlers with the most wickets in women’s ODIs in 2024. She finished the year 2024 with 21 wickets to her name in 11 matches.
Ashleigh Gardner (Australia) – 20 wickets
Ashleigh Gardner donned the Australian kit in 12 women’s ODIs in 2024 and picked up 20 wickets, including one fifer.
Charlie Dean (England) – 20 wickets
In 12 ODIs for England in 2024, all-rounder Charlie Dean managed to take 20 wickets, which also includes two four-fers.
Alana King (Australia) – 19 wickets
Aussie leg-spinner Alana King played 12 ODIs in 2024 and picked up 19 wickets at an exceptional average of 12.10.
