Yograj Singh Offers to Rebuild Pakistan Cricket Team After Champions Trophy Debacle

Following Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, has extended an offer to coach and rebuild the struggling team within a year. Pakistan, hosting an ICC event after 29 years, was eliminated from the semifinals race after losing both their Group A matches against New Zealand and India.

Yograj Singh, known as one of the toughest taskmasters in Indian cricket, made his comments after former cricketers Wasim Akram, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shoaib Akhtar, and Waqar Younis criticized the Pakistan team for their poor showing in the tournament. Pakistan began their campaign with a 60-run loss to New Zealand in the tournament opener in Karachi, followed by a defeat to arch-rivals India in Dubai.

In a talk show, Yograj Singh expressed his willingness to coach the Pakistan team and address the issues they face. He criticized former Pakistani cricketers for their harsh remarks and urged them to contribute positively by organizing training camps instead of merely offering commentary from the sidelines.

Yograj Singh emphasized the importance of passion and dedication in coaching, stating that he spends 12 hours a day training players at his own academy. He believes that with the right approach, he can transform the Pakistan team within a year.

As Pakistan cricket grapples with the aftermath of their early exit from the Champions Trophy, Yograj Singh’s offer to coach the team presents a potential opportunity for rebuilding and improvement.
