Yuzvendra Chahal to Pay ₹4.75 Crore Alimony to Estranged Wife Dhanashree Verma

In a significant development, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has reportedly agreed to pay ₹4.75 crore as alimony to his estranged wife, Dhanashree Verma, as part of their divorce settlement. The Bombay High Court has fast-tracked the divorce proceedings, waiving the mandatory six-month cooling-off period under the Hindu Marriage Act, citing the couple’s prolonged separation since 2022.

The court’s decision comes ahead of Chahal’s participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, where he will represent the Punjab Kings. Chahal had already paid ₹2.37 crore of the agreed alimony amount, with the remaining sum to be settled following the finalization of the divorce.

The couple, who tied the knot in December 2020, filed for divorce earlier this year, seeking mutual consent. The High Court’s ruling overruled a previous Family Court decision that had denied the waiver due to partial compliance with the alimony agreement.

This development marks the end of a highly publicized chapter in the lives of Chahal and Verma, who had faced intense media scrutiny and speculation about their relationship. Both parties have urged for privacy and respect as they move forward separately.
