Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma, recently found themselves amid divorce speculation after they unfollowed each other on Instagram, leading to widespread rumors.
However, the couple has now responded to the buzz, strongly criticizing the trolls and requesting people to stop circulating unfounded assumptions.
But despite of all the clarification that were made, they didn’t even share any recent picture with each other since then and still there is no change in the unfollow stance. Chahal has reportedly deleted all photos with her wife and it has been heard that both of them are living separately for months now.
Amid all the rumours circulating, Chahal recently revealed his jersey number for his new Indian Premier League (IPL) side, Punjab Kings (PBKS). The spinner will be donning his usual no. 3 jersey, something which he has wore all his life for multiple teams like Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Haryana side.
But during his stint with English county side Kent, he wore No. 27 jersey as No. 3 was not available at the time.
So as an alternative, he wore No. 27 jersey, which is birth date of his wife Dhanashree.
”Number 3 wasn’t available, so my obvious choice was 27; my wife’s birthdate”, Chahal said back then in 2023.
As the squad numbers of the Punjab side are not allotted as of now for everyone, Chahal has went back to his usual number. But he also could’ve gone for no. 27 as a tribute to his wife perhaps adding fuel to the divorce rumours.
Actress Zaara Yasmin was also drawn into the speculation, with rumors suggesting that Yuzvendra Chahal had proposed to her. However, in a recent interview with Filmygyan, Zaara set the record straight, stating that she and the cricketer share a close friendship and nothing more.
