RBL Bank Board Approves Plan to Raise Up to 1 Billion USD from Overseas Markets

Strategic Financial Expansion

RBL Bank has taken a major step regarding its financial planning. The board of directors has officially authorized a plan to secure funding reaching up to one billion United States dollars. This capital acquisition will target international investors.

The mechanism chosen for this international fundraising effort is a Euro Medium Term Note Programme. Such financial instruments allow institutions to issue debt notes in various currencies and markets overseas, providing flexibility and broad access to global liquidity.

Execution and Oversight

To ensure smooth implementation, the administration of the borrowing process has been delegated. A specialized borrowing committee established by the institution has been entrusted with full authority.

This committee will oversee all crucial operational steps. Their responsibilities include determining the timing, structure, and execution details required to successfully launch the note programme and complete the capital raising initiative.

Context of the Capital Initiative

This new financial maneuver follows a notable corporate development involving the lender. Recently, Emirates NBD Bank finalized an acquisition securing a controlling sixty percent stake in the expanded share capital of RBL Bank.

With new majority ownership in place and the board approval for substantial international debt issuance, the institution is positioning itself for its next phase of growth and capital strengthening in the global banking sector.
