During a legislative assembly session, the state administration presented detailed findings regarding environmental inspections conducted in the Byrnihat industrial corridor. Lawmakers were informed that inspections carried out over a span of two years uncovered widespread non-compliance among local manufacturing and production facilities.

Out of thirty-seven manufacturing units that underwent official examination during this period, twenty-eight were determined to be operating in direct violation of environmental protection laws. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma formally shared these inspection outcomes during the autumn session of the assembly.
