Indian Army and Assam Rifles Seize 16 Weapons in Joint Operation Across Manipur

In a major crackdown on illegal arms, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, conducted a successful joint operation across the hill and valley districts of Manipur from March 14 to 16, 2025. The intelligence-based operation, carried out in coordination with the Manipur Police, CRPF, and BSF, led to the recovery of 16 weapons, including automatic rifles, pistols, improvised mortars, grenades, and other war-like stores.

The operation covered key districts such as Churachandpur, Imphal West, Imphal East, and Bishnupur, targeting suspected hideouts of armed groups. The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.

This joint effort highlights the commitment of security forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region. Earlier, similar operations in Manipur had resulted in the recovery of arms, ammunition, and explosives, underscoring the ongoing challenges in combating insurgency and illegal activities.
