Union Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹708 crore across Gandhinagar city and district, reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructure growth and civic development.
Key Projects Announced
The Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation spearheaded the initiative, unveiling ₹200.94 crore worth of civic and infrastructure projects, while foundation stones were laid for new works amounting to ₹352.76 crore. Additionally, the Gandhinagar District Administration executed projects valued at ₹45.70 crore, and the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA) contributed ₹107.85 crore in development efforts.
Among the inaugurated projects were:
- RCC and CC roads in Basan, Palaj, and Por (₹8.91 crore).
- Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Vavol and Pethapur (₹5.43 crore).
- Landscaping and beautification in the CH-0 to GH-0 municipal corridor (₹4.68 crore).
- Sewerage and drainage pipelines in Borij and Kolavada.
- Town planning area development (₹75.08 crore).
- Sewage treatment plant at Bhat (₹30.97 crore).
- Road underpass between Sectors 21 and 22 (₹16.45 crore).
- Solar panels and streetlights (₹5.17 crore).
- Ambulance services and laboratory upgrades (₹11.19 crore).
Foundation stone ceremonies included:
- Roadworks in Khoraj, Koba, Randheja, and Sargasan (₹26.57 crore).
- New PHCs in Sectors 7, 21, 22, and Dholakuva (₹10 crore).
- Water and drainage lines in Nabhoi and Vavol (₹50.23 crore).
- Three new sewage treatment plants in Kolavada, Raysan, and Nabhoi (₹35.68 crore).
- Public amenities, including zonal offices, anganwadi renovations, public toilets, and community halls.
Amit Shah’s Vision for Gandhinagar
During the event, Amit Shah emphasized the transformative development movement initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the government remains committed to nationwide infrastructure growth and security. He highlighted that ₹25,000 crore worth of development projects have been undertaken in Gandhinagar over the past six years, significantly enhancing civic amenities.
