Bharat Electronics Secures ₹593 Crore Contract with Indian Air Force

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna defence public sector undertaking, has signed a significant contract worth ₹593.22 crore with the Indian Air Force (IAF). The agreement focuses on providing comprehensive maintenance services for the Akash Missile System, which was originally supplied by BEL. This development underscores BEL’s pivotal role in strengthening India’s defence infrastructure.

The contract marks a strong start to the financial year 2025-26 for BEL, adding to its robust order book. The company has also concluded negotiations for additional orders worth ₹5,000 crore, reflecting its leadership in the defence electronics sector. BEL reported a 16% growth in turnover for FY 2024-25, achieving ₹23,000 crore, which includes export sales of approximately USD 106 million.

The Akash Missile System, a key component of India’s air defence capabilities, will benefit from BEL’s expertise in maintenance and after-sales support. This collaboration further solidifies the company’s reputation as a trusted partner in India’s defence modernization efforts.

BEL’s shares have gained attention in the stock market following the announcement, with analysts predicting a positive outlook for the company’s performance in the coming quarters.
