Bollywood filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan is facing backlash for her comments on actor Gaurav Khanna’s colour blindness during a recent episode of Celebrity MasterChef India. Farah, who hosts the cooking reality show, is being criticized for her insensitive remarks, which have sparked outrage on social media.

In a recent episode, the celebrity contestants were tasked with preparing Farah’s famous roast chicken. As part of the challenge, they had the opportunity to taste the dish prepared by Farah. However, Gaurav Khanna, being a vegetarian, could not sample the chicken and relied on others to describe the flavour. Despite completing his dish, Gaurav struggled with the presentation, and the judges pointed out that he had chosen a plate colour that did not complement the dish.
Upon receiving this feedback, Gaurav disclosed that he is colour blind, which surprised judge Vikas Khanna. Farah Khan, however, responded dismissively, saying, “What rubbish.” She then tested Gaurav by asking if he could identify Vikas’ blue jacket, which was actually red. Gaurav replied that the jacket appeared to be somewhere between orange and red to him.

The incident quickly went viral on social media, with many users condemning Farah Khan for her insensitive remarks. One user wrote, “It was incredibly ignorant on the judges’ part, especially Farah’s. I’m not saying he deserves sympathy for his weakness, he himself never sought it. However, that doesn’t give them the right to mock him or react the way they did. Shameful”.
Another user expressed their disappointment, stating, “Seriously Farah, this is how you treat someone who is suffering with such a big ability. The way she reacted is such a crass. Day by day I am hating her more”.
A fan also criticized Vikas Khanna’s reaction, writing, “Didn’t expect this level of insensitiveness from the #CelebrityMasterChef judges especially VK. They couldn’t utter a single word of empathy for #GauravKhanna when he mentioned that he is colour blind. It is rubbish? Seriously? Disgusting”.

Besides Gaurav Khanna, the show features several other celebrity contestants, including Archana Gautam, Usha Nadkarni, Tejasswi Prakash, Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, Rajiv Adatia, Nikki Tamboli, Faisal Shaikh aka Mr. Faisu, and Kabita Singh. Recently, Ayesha Jhulka, Chandan Prabhakar, and Abhijeet Sawant were evicted from Celebrity MasterChef India.
