French Open 2025: Coco Gauff Reaches Fifth Straight Quarterfinal, Mirra Andreeva Advances

World No. 2 Coco Gauff continued her impressive run at Roland Garros, securing a straight-sets victory over Ekaterina Alexandrova (6-0, 7-5) to reach her fifth consecutive French Open quarterfinal.

Gauff’s Dominant Performance

Gauff breezed through the first set, breaking Alexandrova three times. However, the Russian fought back in the second set, forcing Gauff to dig deep and close out the match in 82 minutes.

The 21-year-old American will now face Madison Keys in an all-American quarterfinal showdown.

Mirra Andreeva’s Historic Achievement

Mirra Andreeva, the 18-year-old Russian rising star, also advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Daria Kasatkina. She became the youngest player since Martina Hingis (1997-98) to reach back-to-back French Open quarterfinals.

Andreeva will now face Jessica Pegula or French wildcard Lois Boisson in the next round.
