Golaghat Engineering College in Assam recently hosted an NCC (National Cadet Corps) awareness meeting, organized by the 12 Assam Battalion NCC, to highlight the critical role of youth in ensuring national security. The event, held on March 6, 2025, brought together students, faculty, and NCC cadets for an inspiring session on patriotism and defense.
The highlight of the program was a keynote address by Air Vice Marshal S. Bordoloi, AVSM (Retd), a distinguished expert in national security. During his speech, AVM Bordoloi shared valuable insights into contemporary security challenges faced by India and emphasized the importance of youth participation in national defense initiatives. He underscored how discipline, awareness, and commitment could enable young individuals to contribute significantly to the nation’s security.
The event witnessed active participation, with 210 NCC cadets and over 100 students from the college attending. The Principal of Golaghat Engineering College and the Commanding Officer of the 12 Assam Battalion NCC also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to embrace the values of discipline and service to the nation.
This awareness meeting served as a platform to inspire the next generation of leaders and foster a sense of responsibility among the youth. It reinforced the pivotal role of NCC in shaping disciplined and patriotic citizens, ready to contribute to India’s security and development.
