The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially begun the registration process for the NEET PG 2024 special stray vacancy round. This additional round aims to fill the remaining vacant seats left unoccupied after the previous counselling rounds. Eligible candidates can now register and participate through the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this special stray vacancy round, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- They must not have been allotted or joined any seat in the previous rounds of NEET PG counselling 2024, including All India Quota (AIQ), state quota, or deemed university admissions.
- Candidates must have secured a percentile score of at least 5% in NEET PG 2024.
- Those who were allotted seats in AIQ Round 3 or the earlier stray vacancy round but did not join are ineligible for this round.
Key Dates and Process
- Registration and Choice Filling: March 6 to March 10, 2025.
- Seat Allotment Result: March 12, 2025.
- Reporting to Allotted Institutes: March 13 to March 20, 2025.
Candidates must submit fresh choices for this round and pay a refundable security deposit—₹50,000 for government seats (AIQ) and ₹3,00,000 for deemed university seats. Failure to join the allotted seat will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit and disqualification from appearing in the NEET PG exam next year.
Important Guidelines
- Candidates must report to their allotted institutes with original documents within the stipulated timeframe.
- Seat allotment information will be shared with state counselling authorities, barring selected candidates from participating in state special stray vacancy rounds.
This special round follows the recent reduction in the NEET PG cut-off percentile to the 5th percentile, ensuring that more candidates have the opportunity to secure seats. Candidates are advised to stay updated with official notifications on the MCC website to avoid missing any critical deadlines.
