Mukesh Ambani Unveils Rs 65,000 Crore Compressed Bio-Gas Project in Andhra Pradesh

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), led by Mukesh Ambani, has announced a groundbreaking Rs 65,000 crore investment in a sustainable energy initiative focused on Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) production in Andhra Pradesh. The ambitious project aims to establish 500 CBG plants across the state, with the foundation stone for the first facility laid in Kanigiri, Prakasam district, by Andhra Pradesh’s IT & Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh.

This initiative is set to transform 500,000 acres of barren and waste land in districts like Prakasam, Anantapur, Chittoor, and Kadapa into productive bio-energy zones. Once fully operational, the plants are expected to produce 40 lakh tonnes of eco-friendly CBG annually, along with 1.1 million metric tonnes of organic fertilizer. The project is poised to create 2.5 lakh jobs, providing significant livelihood opportunities for rural communities.

Reliance Industries emphasized the innovative technology behind the project, which utilizes Napier grass as a key raw material. The initiative aligns with India’s clean energy goals and RIL’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions. It also promises to boost the rural economy by offering lease income to farmers and guaranteed prices for the grass they cultivate.

This large-scale investment underscores RIL’s leadership in energy transformation and its dedication to sustainable development. Stay tuned for more updates on this landmark project and its impact on Andhra Pradesh’s economy.
