Explaining the situation to government departments involved in the logistical aspects of organizing matches and VVIPs expecting free passes has been challenging. “This time, all the people you see in the enclosures in the stadium are paying customers, no freebies,” the source added.

The 30-seater VIP box, valued at 400,000 dirhams (INR 94 lakhs), was sold to boost the PCB’s funds.
