Television actress Shubhangi Atre, best known for her role in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of losing her ex-husband, Piyush Poorey, who passed away in April 2025 due to liver cirrhosis. Despite their divorce in February, Atre admitted that his untimely demise has left her deeply shaken.

Shubhangi Atre’s Emotional Struggles

In a recent interview, Atre revealed that memories of their 17-year-long relationship frequently resurface, triggering waves of anxiety. She shared, “It’s tough. Anxiety hits every two or three days. You can’t just forget a relationship that lasted 17–18 years. Good memories come back too, all kinds of memories. But life goes on, and you have to deal with it.”

Reflections on Piyush Poorey’s Passing

Atre acknowledged that doctors had warned Poorey about his lifestyle choices, particularly his alcohol addiction, which ultimately led to his health deterioration. She expressed her desire to remember him fondly, stating, “I want to remember him for all the good things. I loved him, and I might never forget that.”

Atre, who shares a daughter, Aashi, with Poorey, hopes that he will continue to bless and guide their child. She remains focused on moving forward, despite the emotional challenges.
