TCS Secures 21 Acres of Land for 99 Paisa in Andhra Pradesh, Plans ₹1,370 Crore Investment

In a landmark development, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has been allotted 21.16 acres of prime land in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, for a symbolic lease amount of just 99 paisa. This strategic move is part of the Andhra Pradesh government’s initiative to position Visakhapatnam as a leading IT hub in the country.

The state cabinet approved the allocation as part of its broader efforts to attract investments and boost employment in the region. TCS has committed to investing ₹1,370 crore in establishing a state-of-the-art development center on the site. The facility is expected to generate approximately 12,000 jobs, significantly contributing to the local economy and the state’s IT ecosystem.

The upcoming TCS campus will focus on cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing. While the permanent facility is expected to take two to three years to complete, TCS plans to commence operations within 90 days by renting a temporary space.

This initiative aligns with the Andhra Pradesh government’s vision of creating five lakh IT jobs over the next five years. The collaboration between TCS and the state government underscores the success of the “Make in India” campaign and highlights the growing prominence of Visakhapatnam as a preferred destination for global IT giants.

Stay tuned for further updates on this transformative project and its impact on India’s IT landscape.
