Tripura: Four Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested for Illegal Entry into India

Agartala: Security forces in Tripura have arrested four Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala railway station for allegedly entering India illegally. Officials confirmed that the individuals were detained while attempting to board a Kolkata-bound train on Saturday.

According to police sources, the detainees failed to produce valid travel documents, leading to their immediate arrest. They were later presented before a local court, which remanded them to three-day police custody for further interrogation.

Additionally, a joint operation conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF) and railway police in Sonamura, Sepahijala district, resulted in the arrest of five Indian nationals suspected of facilitating the illegal entry. Authorities believe these individuals were involved in human trafficking, helping the Bangladeshi nationals cross the India-Bangladesh border and providing logistical support.

Officials have assured that further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the infiltration network and identify any additional suspects involved in cross-border movement.
