Tripura Government to Expand Blood Bank Network, Confirms CM Manik Saha

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has announced plans to establish more blood banks across the state to enhance healthcare infrastructure and ensure adequate blood supply for medical emergencies.

Speaking at a blood donation camp organized on the occasion of the 70th foundation day of the Deed Writers’ Association, CM Saha emphasized Tripura’s significant contribution to blood donation at the national level. He urged citizens, especially young individuals over 18, to actively participate in voluntary blood donation drives.

Currently, Tripura has 14 blood banks, including 12 government-run and two private facilities. The Chief Minister assured that new blood banks would be set up in the coming months to improve accessibility and streamline blood classification systems.

Highlighting the health benefits of blood donation, CM Saha stated that regular donors can reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart ailments, and other health issues. He also stressed the importance of legal and ethical land documentation, acknowledging the role of the Deed Writers’ Association in serving the community.

The event was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Corporator Janhvi Das Chowdhury, Jagannath Bari Temple in-charge Kamal Krishna Maharaj, and other prominent personalities.
