Veera: ‘Made in India’ mobile-only internet browser unveiled

In a significant development for India’s mobile internet landscape, Veera, a ‘Made in India’ mobile-only internet browser, made its debut today.

This innovative browser, backed by marquee investors, claims to revolutionise the digital experience for users across the country.

In a digital era where speed and safety are paramount concerns, Veera claims to be positioned as a testament to indigenous innovation. The browser not only addresses the fundamental requirements of crash-free browsing, speed, and security but also aims to engage the curiosity of the next generation of Indian internet users.

“Our mission was to craft a faster, safer, and private browsing sanctuary for Indian internet users. We embarked on this journey to build an internet experience that resonates with India’s uniqueness,” Arjun Ghose, the Founder of Veera, said.

“With the average user spending approximately 7.3 hours per day online, Veera’s impact as the window to the internet for a billion Indians is undeniably significant. But, let me assure you this is just the beginning; there are a whole bunch of features in the pipeline that we are super excited about and will launch shortly.”

“Veera has set new benchmarks in terms of speed, boasting a remarkable 40.8 runs per minute on Speedometer, placing it at the forefront of browser peers,” he added.

The browser also features an integrated live tracker, offering real-time counts of blocked ads and trackers, along with a clear representation of data saved.

While blocking trackers is a feature provided by a few select browsers worldwide, Veera claims to take a step further by default-blocking third-party trackers, ads, autoplay videos, and more. Currently, it is exclusively available on Android devices, with plans to expand to iOS and Windows in the near future.

Key Features at Launch:

Fast Browsing: Veera enables users to surf the web at lightning speeds, ensuring quick access to their favourite websites and content. Its cutting-edge technology provides a swift and efficient browsing experience.

Safety: According to the company, the browser does not share user identities with third parties and blocks all known third-party ad servers, allowing users to explore the internet with privacy assurance. Veera also offers an ad-blocking solution, removing all third-party ads by default. Users can enjoy an ad-free environment, free from intrusive pop-ups and distracting banners.
