Rinshul Chandra, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Zomato’s Food Delivery business, has officially stepped down from his role, effective April 5, 2025. The announcement was made through a regulatory filing by Zomato, where Chandra cited his decision to “pursue new opportunities and passions” as the reason for his resignation.
In his resignation letter addressed to Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal, Chandra expressed gratitude for his journey with the company. He stated, “After careful consideration, I have decided to pursue new opportunities and passions that align with my evolving personal and professional goals.” Chandra’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter in his career, having joined Zomato in 2018 and rising through the ranks to become COO in 2023.
Zomato, which recently rebranded its corporate entity to Eternal Limited while retaining the Zomato brand for its food delivery business, has been undergoing several changes. The company has also faced challenges, including a slowdown in growth and recent layoffs of nearly 600 customer support executives as part of its restructuring efforts.
Chandra’s resignation adds to the list of high-profile exits from the company in recent months. Despite these transitions, Zomato remains committed to optimizing its operations and adapting to the evolving market landscape.
As Rinshul Chandra embarks on a new chapter, his contributions to Zomato’s growth and success will be remembered as a pivotal part of the company’s journey.
