Rohit Sharma Quashes Retirement Rumors After Champions Trophy Triumph

Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has put an end to speculation about his retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs) following India’s thrilling victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final. Addressing the media after the match, Rohit confirmed his commitment to the 50-over format, stating, “I am not going anywhere, I am not retiring from this format.”

The Champions Trophy final, held in Dubai, saw India clinch their third title with a four-wicket win over New Zealand. Rohit played a pivotal role in the chase, scoring a commanding 76 runs off 83 balls, including a 105-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill. His performance earned him the Player of the Final award, further solidifying his legacy in ODI cricket.

Rohit, who retired from T20Is after leading India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, emphasized that there are no immediate plans to step away from ODIs. “What is happening will keep happening,” he remarked, signaling his intent to continue contributing to the team’s success.
