Minister Sudhangshu Das Highlights Piggery as Key to Strengthening Rural Economy

In a bid to boost the rural economy and create employment opportunities, Tripura’s Minister for Animal Resources Development, Sudhangshu Das, has emphasized the importance of pig farming. Speaking at a state-level seminar on “Pig Diseases with Special Reference to Classical Swine Fever”, the minister outlined the government’s vision for advancing the piggery sector through sustainable and climate-resilient practices.

Minister Das highlighted that pig farming has immense potential to generate income and employment in rural areas, particularly for small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs.
