Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Makhija Apologize to NCW Amid ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy

YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Makhija have issued formal apologies to the National Commission for Women (NCW) following backlash over their controversial remarks on the show India’s Got Latent. The duo, along with the show’s producers, appeared before the NCW in response to notices issued last month, acknowledging their mistakes and committing to being more mindful in the future.

The controversy erupted after Allahbadia and Makhija made remarks on the show that were deemed inappropriate and offensive, sparking outrage on social media. Several FIRs were lodged against the content creators, and the Supreme Court had earlier granted Allahbadia interim protection from arrest while emphasizing the need for decency in public discourse.

NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar condemned the remarks, stating, “The obscene language used in the show is absolutely indecent and unacceptable. Keeping in mind its social impact, the commission took immediate cognizance and issued notices.” She confirmed that the individuals expressed deep regret and submitted written apologies during their appearance.

Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, assured the NCW that this incident would not be repeated. “This is the first and last time such a mistake has happened. From now on, I will think carefully and speak with respect toward women,” he reportedly stated.

The NCW has reiterated its commitment to addressing issues of indecency and ensuring accountability in public platforms. The incident serves as a reminder of the responsibility that influencers and content creators bear in shaping public narratives and maintaining ethical standards.
