Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is set to reprise his role as Baldev Pratap Singh in the sequel to his action-packed film Jaat. Despite the first installment’s underwhelming box office performance, the makers have announced Jaat 2, signaling their confidence in the franchise’s potential.
The announcement came just a week after Jaat hit theaters on April 10, 2025. The film, directed by Gopichand Malineni, marked his Hindi-language debut and featured an ensemble cast including Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, and Jagapathi Babu. While the movie received mixed-to-positive reviews for its action sequences and performances, it struggled to make a significant impact at the box office, earning ₹57.50 crore net in India and ₹75 crore worldwide in its first week.
Sunny Deol shared the news of the sequel on social media, unveiling the poster with the caption, “#Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2.” The sequel will once again be helmed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Y, and TG Vishwa Prasad returning as producers.
While details about the cast remain under wraps, Deol’s return as the lead has been confirmed. The makers are optimistic that Jaat 2 will resonate with audiences and recover its investment, despite the challenges faced by the first film.
The announcement has sparked curiosity and anticipation among fans, who are eager to see how the sequel builds on the foundation laid by its predecessor. With promises of bigger action and drama, Jaat 2 aims to deliver a cinematic experience that captivates viewers and strengthens the franchise’s legacy.
