Sanjay Dutt Reflects on Changing Work Culture in the Hindi Film Industry

Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt recently shared his insights on the evolving work culture in the Hindi film industry, highlighting the stark differences between past and present practices. The actor, who will soon be seen in the upcoming horror-action comedy The Bhootnii, spoke candidly about the advantages enjoyed by the younger generation of actors.

Dutt emphasized that today’s actors benefit from structured processes, such as bound scripts and pre-prepared dialogues, which were not available during his early years in the industry. He remarked, “The young stars in the film are all extremely talented, and they have been cast because they nailed the audition. Of course, there is a big difference between then and now. Today’s stars have the advantage of having a bound script with their dialogues being given to them much in advance.”

He also pointed out the modern amenities available to actors, including vanity vans and dedicated entourages, which were luxuries unheard of in his time. Reflecting on his own experiences, Dutt noted, “We didn’t have that luxury. Today the industry functions very differently. Actors have a lot of advantages, whether it’s resting in vanity vans between shots or having an entourage which caters to every need.”

The actor also confirmed his collaboration with Salman Khan in The Bhootnii, describing the film as an action-packed entertainer. The movie, produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt under the banner of Soham Rockstar Entertainment, is set to release on May 1, 2025.

Dutt’s reflections offer a glimpse into the transformation of Bollywood over the decades, shedding light on how advancements in technology and changing industry dynamics have shaped the careers of contemporary actors. His comments underscore the importance of adapting to new trends while cherishing the legacy of the past.
