Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) celebrated Lineman Day on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, across multiple circles and divisions, emphasizing the importance of safety and awareness in power distribution services. The statewide observance recognized the invaluable contributions of linemen and helpers while reinforcing the need for enhanced safety measures.
Event Highlights in Udaipur
The main event, organized by the Gomati District Electricity Circle in Udaipur, was attended by TSECL Managing Director Bishwajit Bose, who highlighted the linemen’s critical role in maintaining electricity services. “Linemen and helpers are the backbone of this department’s service operations. This day should be celebrated by acknowledging their efforts, spreading awareness about their responsibilities, and prioritizing safety measures,” Bose remarked.
He stressed the importance of protecting power distribution workers and ensuring their well-being for uninterrupted electricity services. The event also featured speeches by senior officials, including Additional General Managers (AGMs) and Deputy General Managers (DGMs), who underscored the significance of Lineman Day in fostering a culture of safety and responsibility.
Observance Across Tripura
Lineman Day was simultaneously observed in various divisions, including Mohanpur, Jirania, and Ranirbazar under TSECL’s Circle No. 2. A special event at Agnibina Town Hall in Jirania was presided over by Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairman Ratan Das. Distinguished attendees included TSECL General Manager (Technical) Swapan Debbarma, AGM Seema Das, AGM of Electrical Circle No. 2 Shyamal Baidya, and DGM of Jirania Electrical Division Shakti Kumar Debbarma. Eight linemen were honored for their dedicated service during the event.
In Mohanpur and Sidai, TSECL’s Finance Director Sarvjit Singh Dogra, DGM Manoranjan Das, and municipal representatives joined the celebrations. Meanwhile, at Ranirbazar, West Tripura Zilla Parishad Vice President Bishwajit Shil, DGM Bidyut Das, and other officials participated in the program.
Celebrations in South Tripura
In Belonia, the district-level event for South Tripura was graced by AGM Kanti Dey, who addressed the gathering on the critical importance of safety measures for linemen and electricity workers. The event underscored the need to prioritize safety while acknowledging the linemen’s contributions.
