Death Threat to Tiger Shroff Declared Hoax; Accused Apprehended in Punjab

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff faced a security scare after a death threat was reported to the Mumbai Police. The alleged plot, involving a ₹2 lakh “supari” (contract) to assassinate the actor, has now been confirmed as a hoax. The accused, identified as Manish Kumar Sujinder Singh, a 35-year-old resident of Punjab, has been apprehended.

The Incident

On April 21, 2025, Singh called the Mumbai Police Control Room, claiming that individuals from a private security agency had been hired to kill Shroff. He alleged that a weapon and ₹2 lakh had been provided to execute the plan. The police immediately heightened Shroff’s security and launched an investigation.

Investigation Findings

Upon thorough verification, the police discovered that Singh’s claims were fabricated. The accused, who previously worked as a security guard in Mumbai, reportedly made the false call out of personal grievances against his employer, alleging unpaid wages. Singh was detained in Kapurthala, Punjab, and is being brought to Mumbai for further questioning.

Legal Action

A case has been registered against Singh under Sections 353(2), 212, and 217 of the Indian Penal Code for spreading misinformation and attempting to incite fear. The Mumbai Police have assured that strict action will be taken against such malicious activities.

Broader Implications

This incident highlights the growing misuse of emergency services for personal vendettas, raising concerns about the strain on law enforcement resources. It also comes amid a series of similar threats targeting Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan in recent months.
