Peshawar, April 7, 2025 – Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, conducted on the night of April 5-6, resulted in the elimination of eight terrorists and injuries to four others, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing reported that the movement of a group of militants, referred to as “Khwarij,” was detected in the Hassan Khel area. Following an intense exchange of fire, the security forces neutralized the threat and launched a sanitization operation to eliminate any remaining militants in the vicinity.
Pakistan has consistently urged the interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management and prevent the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities targeting Pakistan. The ISPR emphasized the nation’s commitment to securing its borders and eradicating terrorism.
This incident follows a series of recent infiltration attempts and heightened militant activity in the region, underscoring the ongoing security challenges faced by Pakistan.
