Dibrugarh: In a solemn tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, residents of Dibrugarh, Assam, gathered for a candlelight vigil to express solidarity with the grieving families. The event, organized by local community leaders and social activists, saw participation from hundreds of citizens, including students, professionals, and political representatives.
The vigil, held at Dibrugarh Town Hall, began with a two-minute silence, followed by prayers and speeches condemning the attack. Attendees lit candles and carried placards with messages of peace, unity, and resilience.
Speaking at the event, a senior activist emphasized the need for national solidarity in times of tragedy. “This gathering is not just about mourning the loss of innocent lives; it is a statement against terrorism and a call for peace,” he said.
Similar candlelight vigils have been held across India, including in Amritsar, Rourkela, and Auroville, where communities have come together to honor the victims.
