David Warner Dismisses Claims of Indian Trolling Over PSL Participation

Veteran Australian cricketer David Warner, who is set to make his debut in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, recently addressed a controversial question during a press conference in Karachi. The reporter claimed that Indian fans were trolling Warner online for participating in the PSL after going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Warner, however, firmly denied any knowledge of such criticism, stating, “This is the first I’ve heard of it.”

Warner, who was signed by Karachi Kings for a record-breaking INR 2.58 crore, making him the most expensive player in PSL history, emphasized his focus on cricket. “From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There’s an opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar didn’t allow me to come to PSL due to the timings. Now, I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully we are able to win the trophy,” he remarked.

The seasoned cricketer, who retired from international cricket last year, is eager to make an impact in the PSL. Warner’s impressive T20 record, with over 12,900 runs in 399 matches at a strike rate of 140.23, makes him a valuable asset for the Karachi Kings. His leadership and experience are expected to bolster the team’s chances in the tournament.

Warner’s response to the reporter’s claim has been widely appreciated by fans and cricketing experts, who view it as a testament to his professionalism and focus on the game. As he prepares to lead the Karachi Kings in their opening match against Multan Sultans, all eyes are on Warner to see if he can replicate his IPL success in the PSL.
