New Delhi, April 7, 2025 – On the occasion of World Health Day, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare emphasized the significance of adopting healthy habits to ensure a brighter and stronger future. In a social media post, the ministry encouraged citizens to prioritize good food, adequate sleep, and regular exercise as key components of a healthy lifestyle.

Additionally, the ministry advised increasing water intake to stay hydrated and caring for mental health by taking regular breaks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also echoed these sentiments, urging Indians to adopt healthier lifestyles and work towards a life free from obesity. He highlighted the alarming prediction that over 44 crore Indians could suffer from obesity by 2050 and called for immediate action, including reducing cooking oil consumption by 10%.
