Jamugurihat Assistant Professor Wins Gold Medal in Mass Communication

Dr. Rajlakshmi Basumatary, an assistant professor at Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, Jamugurihat, has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by securing a gold medal in Mass Communication and Journalism. She was awarded the honor for securing the first position in her Master’s degree from Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University.

Dr. Basumatary, who teaches English, pursued her postgraduate studies in Mass Communication and Journalism alongside her regular teaching responsibilities. Her dedication and perseverance have earned her widespread appreciation from the academic community and local residents.

Prior to this achievement, Dr. Basumatary completed her Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Gahan Chandra Mahanta at Gauhati University, focusing on historical and literary aspects of Assamese literature.
