Gangtok, April 7, 2025 – Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang participated in a high-level task force meeting convened by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). The discussions, held via video conference, focused on strengthening agriculture, horticulture, and tourism in the northeastern states.
The meeting brought together union ministers, chief ministers, and cabinet members to address challenges such as infrastructure gaps, limited access to technology, and market barriers for farmers and producers. CM Tamang emphasized the need for policy reforms, better support from nationalized banks, and improved connectivity to unlock the region’s potential.
In addition to agriculture, the session explored investment and tourism opportunities, recognizing their role in driving regional development. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for his strategic insights and recommendations.
This collaborative effort aims to transform the agricultural and tourism landscapes of the Northeast, paving the way for a more prosperous future.
