MediaTek has launched its latest Kompanio Ultra 910 chipset, designed to redefine performance and efficiency for Chromebook Plus laptops. Built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, the chipset boasts an all-big-core architecture featuring eight cores, including the high-performance Arm Cortex-X925 processor clocked at up to 3.62GHz. This innovative design delivers up to 18% faster single-threaded performance compared to alternative chips.
The Kompanio Ultra 910 integrates MediaTek’s 8th-generation Neural Processing Unit (NPU), offering up to 50 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of AI processing power. This enables on-device generative AI experiences, such as real-time task automation and personalized computing, without relying on internet connectivity. The chipset also supports LPDDR5X memory at speeds of up to 8533Mbps, ensuring seamless multitasking and enhanced data access.
For graphics, the processor includes the 11-core Immortalis-G925 MC11 GPU, which supports ray tracing and delivers immersive visuals for gaming and multimedia applications. Additionally, the chipset powers multi-display setups with support for up to two external 4K displays.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, ensuring ultra-fast and low-latency connections. Chromebooks equipped with the Kompanio Ultra 910 are expected to offer quiet, cool operation and lightweight portability, making them ideal for both professional and personal use.
