Israel Strikes Southern Gaza, Death Toll Surpasses 50,000 Amid New Evacuation Orders

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has reached a devastating milestone, with the death toll exceeding 50,000, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Israeli airstrikes across the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday night claimed the lives of at least 26 Palestinians, including a senior Hamas political leader, Salah Bardawil, and several women and children.

The strikes targeted areas in Rafah, where the Israeli military has intensified its ground operations. Residents were ordered to evacuate the heavily damaged Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, with many fleeing on foot to makeshift camps in Muwasi. The evacuation comes amid worsening humanitarian conditions, as displaced families struggle with limited access to food, water, and medical care.

Israel’s renewed offensive follows the collapse of a ceasefire last week. The Israeli military stated that its operations aim to dismantle Hamas’ infrastructure and secure the release of hostages. However, the escalating violence has drawn international criticism, with rights groups warning of a humanitarian crisis.

The situation remains dire, with hospitals in southern Gaza overwhelmed by casualties. As the conflict continues, the international community is calling for urgent measures to protect civilians and address the growing humanitarian needs in the region.
