In a bold political move ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari spearheaded a ‘Sanatani’ solidarity rally in Haldia, Purba Medinipur district. The rally, which saw hundreds of BJP activists marching through the industrial township, aimed to unite Hindus and challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by Mamata Banerjee.
Adhikari accused the TMC of appeasement politics and turning a blind eye to alleged atrocities against Hindus by extremist elements. He claimed that a unified Hindu vote could dismantle the TMC regime in the upcoming elections. “If five percent more Hindu votes come to the BJP, we will win the next assembly polls,” Adhikari stated during the rally.
The rally also highlighted Adhikari’s criticism of Mamata Banerjee’s policies, which he described as favoring one community at the expense of others. He warned against West Bengal becoming “another Bangladesh” and called for a resurgence of Hindu unity to protect cultural and religious heritage.
As the political landscape in West Bengal heats up, Adhikari’s rally underscores the BJP’s strategy to consolidate Hindu votes and challenge the TMC’s dominance. The rally marks a significant moment in the state’s political narrative, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral battle in 2026.
