Three Terrorists Neutralized in J&K’s Kathua; Three Security Personnel Martyred in Fierce Encounter

Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir: In a major counter-terror operation, security forces eliminated three terrorists in the Kathua district of Jammu & Kashmir. The encounter, which unfolded in the early hours of the morning, also resulted in the loss of three brave jawans.

According to security officials, the terrorists, believed to be linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)-affiliated Resistance Front (TRF), had infiltrated the region and were planning an attack. Acting on intelligence inputs, joint teams of the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a search operation in the remote areas of Kathua.

During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on security personnel, triggering an intense gunfight. After several hours of engagement, all three terrorists were neutralized. However, in the exchange of fire, three soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice.

Following the encounter, a high alert has been issued across the region, with security forces intensifying combing operations to rule out any further threats. Intelligence agencies are also investigating the possible routes used by the militants for infiltration.

The terror outfit, which has claimed responsibility for the attack, has been under surveillance for its increased activities in the Jammu region. The latest incident underscores the persistent threat posed by cross-border terrorism and the continued efforts of security forces to maintain stability in the region.
