Instagram officially launched a major update this week, introducing the ability for users to reorder photos and videos within existing carousel posts. The change, which rolled out globally to all users on iOS and Android, addresses one of the most persistent technical frustrations for content creators and casual users alike.

Previously, once a carousel post was published, the order of the images was permanent. If a user realized they had uploaded an image out of sequence or made a typo on a specific slide, the only solution was to delete the entire post and start over, sacrificing all accumulated likes, comments, and algorithmic reach.
