While he characterizes current state initiatives as a financial burden, his professional background reveals a starkly different chapter: in 2017, Blakeman served as a senior executive for a private firm pitching a multi-billion dollar solar-powered border wall to the federal government.
The Solar Entrepreneur
Following the 2017 inauguration of President Donald Trump, Blakeman founded Sustainable Technology LLC. The company aimed to secure a massive government contract to construct a 30-foot tall border barrier integrated with solar panels. Blakeman argued that the project would be self-funding, proposing that the sale of generated electricity to Mexico would cover a significant portion of the construction costs.
