The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has commenced work on the ₹30-crore Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) in Unnao, aiming to boost industrial growth and logistics efficiency in the region.
Project Overview and Infrastructure Development
The IMLC spans 135.26 hectares near the Lucknow-Kanpur State Highway, strategically positioned for seamless connectivity to the Ganga Expressway, Sonik Railway Station, Unnao Railway Station, and Lucknow International Airport. The development follows the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, ensuring state-of-the-art infrastructure within 12 months.
Key Features of the Unnao IMLC
The project will include:
- Boundary walls and barbed wire fencing for security.
- Fire station, borewells, pump house, and overhead water tanks for essential services.
- Entry gates, internal roads, drainage systems, and power substations to support industrial operations.
- Modern lighting systems, underground electrical cabling, and signage installations for enhanced functionality.
Government Vision and Economic Impact
The Yogi Adityanath-led government has announced 33 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters across 30 districts, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a key industrial hub. The Unnao cluster is expected to attract private enterprises, improve logistics efficiency, and contribute to the state’s $1 trillion economy vision.
