Amit Shah Embarks on 3-Day Assam Tour Starting March 14

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to begin a three-day visit to Assam from March 14, 2025, during which he will participate in key events aimed at promoting education, development, and regional unity. The visit underscores the government’s continued focus on the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and Assam’s overall progress.

Key Highlights of the Visit:

  • March 15: Shah will inaugurate the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, a state-of-the-art training facility named after the legendary Ahom general who defended Assam against Mughal invasions. The academy is expected to enhance the skills of law enforcement personnel in the Northeast.
  • March 16: The Home Minister will address the 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) at Dotma, Kokrajhar. The conference, which began on March 13, focuses on advancing the Mission Quality Education Movement-2030, with discussions on education, youth empowerment, and sustainable development in the BTR.
