Amit Shah to Visit Jammu and Kashmir for Security Review on April 7-8

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on April 7-8 to assess the security situation and review counter-insurgency operations in the region. During his two-day visit, Shah will chair a high-level meeting with senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and intelligence agencies. The discussions are expected to focus on counter-terrorism measures, cross-border infiltration attempts, and the overall security landscape.

Shah is also likely to visit forward areas along the International Border to inspect security arrangements and interact with troops stationed there. His visit comes amid heightened efforts to combat terrorism and ensure zero infiltration across the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB). The government has been actively dismantling networks of overground workers and narco-funding mechanisms that support terrorist activities.

This visit is part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen security mechanisms and promote stability in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah’s previous visits to the region have emphasized developmental initiatives and infrastructure projects aimed at fostering peace and progress.
