Meta Appoints Arun Srinivas as Managing Director and Head of India Operations, Effective July 1

In a strategic leadership move, Meta Platforms has named Arun Srinivas as the new Managing Director and Head for India, effective July 1, 2025. This appointment follows the expanded role of Sandhya Devanathan, who now oversees Meta’s operations across both India and Southeast Asia.

Arun Srinivas: A Proven Leader in Digital Innovation

Srinivas, who joined Meta in 2020, currently serves as the Director and Head of Ads Business in India. With nearly three decades of experience across Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, Ola, and WestBridge Capital, he brings deep expertise in sales, marketing, and digital transformation.

In his new role, Srinivas will:

  • Lead Meta’s India charter, aligning business, innovation, and revenue priorities
  • Strengthen partnerships with advertisers, developers, and content creators
  • Drive growth across Meta’s platforms—Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp—in its largest user market globally

Focus on AI, Reels, and Messaging

Srinivas has played a pivotal role in scaling Meta’s AI-powered advertising, Reels monetization, and WhatsApp business messaging in India. Under his leadership, Meta India’s ad revenue surged to ₹22,730 crore in FY24, reflecting a 24% year-on-year growth.

“Arun’s impressive track record of building high-performing teams and fostering strong partnerships makes him the ideal leader to drive Meta’s continued investment in India,” said Sandhya Devanathan.

Strategic Timing Amid Regulatory Scrutiny

The appointment comes as Meta navigates regulatory challenges in India, including antitrust scrutiny and data privacy concerns. Srinivas’s leadership is expected to steer the company through this evolving landscape while capitalizing on India’s booming digital economy.
