Mizoram Autowallah Returns ₹17 Lakh Left Behind by Myanmar Businessman in 3-Wheeler

In a heartwarming display of honesty, an auto-rickshaw driver in Lawngtlai, Mizoram, returned a staggering ₹17 lakh in cash to a Myanmar businessman who had accidentally left the money behind in his vehicle. The incident, which unfolded on Thursday night, has gone viral on social media and is being hailed as a shining example of integrity and civic virtue.

The driver, identified as Lalhmingmuana, had picked up the businessman around 9 PM for a ride. Unbeknownst to the passenger, he left behind a polythene bag filled with cash in the auto. Upon discovering the bag, Lalhmingmuana immediately returned to the hotel where he had dropped the man and handed over the money—expecting nothing in return.

“Though he was fully aware of what was inside the bundle, he honestly handed it over. We are extremely proud of him,” said C Zathianga, president of the Lawngtlai Auto Rickshaw Owners’ Association.
