Dhubri: Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi of the Gauhati High Court inaugurated the new Dhubri District Judicial Court Building on April 26, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the region’s judicial infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Justice Bishnoi emphasized the importance of modern judicial facilities in ensuring equal access to justice and upholding the rule of law. He stated that while advanced infrastructure is crucial, the human element remains vital in maintaining public confidence in the judiciary.
The five-storey court complex, spread across five bighas, is equipped with modern amenities to facilitate efficient legal proceedings. Initially, thirteen courts will operate from the premises, with provisions for seven additional courtrooms to accommodate future expansion.
Justice Bishnoi acknowledged the high pendency of cases and the socio-cultural diversity of the region, noting that the new facility addresses critical gaps in judicial infrastructure. He expressed satisfaction that the complex would provide a dignified and efficient setting for justice delivery.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dibakar Nath, Superintendent of Police Nabin Singh, senior advocates, and members of the Dhubri Bar Association.
