Modi Realizes Vajpayee’s J&K Vision Through Chenab Railway Bridge!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision for Jammu & Kashmir by inaugurating the Chenab Railway Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge, standing 359 meters above the Chenab River.

  • Part of the ₹46,000 crore Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, it ensures all-weather rail connectivity to the Kashmir Valley.

  • The project was originally sanctioned in the mid-1990s and declared a National Project in 2002 under Vajpayee’s leadership.
