Vivo, the Chinese smartphone giant, is reportedly preparing to expand its X200 series lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo X200 Ultra and Vivo X200 Mini. Following the success of the Vivo X200 Pro in the Indian market, Vivo India is actively lobbying its headquarters to bring these premium devices to the country.
The Vivo X200 Ultra, which is expected to debut in China in April 2025, is anticipated to feature cutting-edge specifications, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The device is rumored to boast a flagship-grade camera setup co-engineered with Zeiss, incorporating a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 telephoto sensor and a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT 818 sensor for the ultrawide and main cameras. Additionally, the Ultra model is likely to offer a larger display with slimmer bezels, catering to the ultra-premium smartphone segment.
The Vivo X200 Mini, already available in China, is expected to bring a compact design to the Indian market. It features a 6.3-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 50-megapixel 3x zoom periscope telephoto camera. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, the Mini model offers a balance of performance and portability.
Vivo’s decision to consider launching these models in India is driven by the overwhelming demand for the Vivo X200 Pro, which reportedly sold out in the country. The success of the X Fold 3 Pro has further bolstered Vivo’s confidence in competing in the ultra-premium segment, currently dominated by Apple and Samsung.
While official launch dates and pricing details are yet to be confirmed, industry experts anticipate that the Vivo X200 Ultra and X200 Mini will be available in India in the coming months. These devices are expected to strengthen Vivo’s position as a leading smartphone brand in the Indian market. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development.
