Assam has made a remarkable mark in the 8th Federation Cup Wushu Championship, clinching an impressive total of 16 medals, including 2 gold, 3 silver, and 11 bronze. The championship, held in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, showcased the exceptional talent and dedication of Assam’s athletes.
The gold medalists, Riki Kharka and Manish Chettri, delivered outstanding performances in the Dulian event, earning accolades for their skill and precision. Other notable medal winners include Sanjib Kumar Singh, who secured gold in the Nandao event and bronze in Nanquan, and Rongila Daimary, who bagged silver in Nangun and bronze in Nandao.
The championship also highlighted Assam’s prowess in the Sanda (Free Fighting) category, with Priya Boro and Amina Kujur winning silver medals in the below 45 kg and below 48 kg categories, respectively. Bronze medals were awarded to Phulsri Brahma, Khwrmdaw Basumatary, and Swarangsri Daimary in various weight categories.
