Cisco has unveiled ambitious plans to enhance AI skilling across India, partnering with state governments and educational institutions to empower the next generation of tech professionals. The company has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to train a combined total of 125,000 students in advanced IT skills, including networking, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, over the next three years.
As part of this initiative, Cisco will establish an AI Centre of Excellence in Telangana and launch a Networking Academy lab at the GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research in Greater Noida. These facilities aim to provide cutting-edge training and industry readiness for students, aligning with Cisco’s vision of bridging the digital skills divide.
Cisco’s AI Readiness Index highlights the urgent need for workforce upskilling, with only 31% of organizations globally prepared to leverage AI effectively. Through its comprehensive learning programs, Cisco is addressing this gap by offering courses ranging from AI basics to advanced networking design.
This strategic push underscores Cisco’s commitment to fostering an inclusive future powered by AI, ensuring that India remains at the forefront of technological innovation and workforce development.
